 NFI NORTH

NFI North as an extension of NAFI, was incorporated in 1992 to develop community based and in home services for children, youth, adults and families within the northern New England States of Maine and New Hampshire. Our focus is on helping the individual to grow and develop within the context of their family and community. Our mission is to create innovative services that meet the needs of individuals and families within the community.

NFI services actively engage the client in his/her own treatment, and we help our clients develop autonomy and independence within services that are family driven and actively engaged within the community. The ultimate goal is to help clients be successful within their home and community. We actively engage families and help them to create strong, healthy connections. We do this through a wide array of services in both rural and urban areas throughout Maine and New Hampshire.

Through the use of evidence based practices our clinicians, teachers, family workers and counselors focus on the following:

 Individualized and group therapy, using a wide variety of best practices  Family therapy and in-home services to help families develop improved relationships  Parent counseling, education and support  Group work in the community  Assistance with connecting to recreational opportunities in the home and community  Wellness education, including health and nutrition counseling  Information and coordination of health services  Assistance with the development of pro-social life skills  Assistance with the development of job skills  Mental health education geared toward helping clients understand their diagnoses in order to better manage their lives  Crisis prevention, intervention and stabilization  Coordination of diverse client services, including schools, therapists, social workers, families, legal systems and case managers  Transitional services to assist clients with life changes

NFI North prides itself on its flexibility of services, its ability to individualize those services to meet the needs of each client and its commitment to regular assessment and evaluation to ensure that each treatment plan is a useful, living document that serves the client well.
