PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Wheeler Mountain Academy (WMA) offers academic programming in a socially and emotionally supportive school community. Our positive learning environment encourages all students to identify individual strengths and goals. WMA motivates students to develop a social understanding and sense of empathy towards others. Students are empowered to manage their academic success through the development of a personalized learning plan and portfolio. Academic instruction takes place in a small, multi-level group setting and offers experiential approaches to meeting curriculum standards. Teachers provide students with the opportunity for hands-on exploration and application of material in the classroom as well as in real life settings. WMA is recognzed by the Vermont Department of Education as an approved independent school.
