|
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Alternatives Program, located in Providence, RI, is one of eight programs that constitute the NAFI/RI Network. It is a staff-secured therapeutic residential community where the residents attend school on grounds. Program staff works with residents to provide unique, fun, and educational experiences while still assuring that treatment and safety are the primary concerns. The residents enjoy things like working in the greenhouse or making pottery, as well as trips accompanied by staff to a variety of places - such as camping or white-water rafting. With intensive tratment and counseling and the experiential opportunities, Alternaties provides a supportive, well-rounded environment to assist the adolescents as they move towards their goals.
